The floodlit All Weather Facility at Quarryvale Community & Leisure Centre was installed by Field Turf (Ireland) at a cost of €182,000 in 2002. The installation of the "Astro" as it is commonly known was secured by funding from the Young Persons Facilities & Services Fund after a joint campaign by URBAN, the Community Centre and Quarryvale Football Club.
The "Astro" measuring 26m x 38m is surrounded by 4ft high kick boards and an additional 4ft of wire mesh fencing which insures that clubs and groups enjoy a secure enclosed  coaching environment. Quarryvale Football Club and the local youth have benefited enormously from the installation of this facility.   

      The facility is available for hire to Clubs and Groups from the surrounding area at reasonable rates.

Locally, 5,6,7 & 8 year old Boys & Girls are enjoying the "Team 2000" Soccer School which is held every Saturday morning and organised by Quarryvale Football Club

It is generally accepted that children who participate in sporting activities from a young age lead healthier lifestyles
